About Us
The Yellow Tea Rose Foundation of NC is a nonprofit charitable corporation who secures and distribute contributions from individuals, estates, government, corporations, foundations, and any other source for the sole purpose of giving educational scholarships for the benefit of female students living in the Charlotte, NC metro area. The Foundation was founded in memory of Hopie Perry, a deceased member of the Beta Omicron Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. She donated funds to the Beta Omicron Sigma Chapter to set up a foundation to assist with educational scholarships for young women. Today, the Hopie Perry - Lavenia Scholarship is awarded annually to female students living in the Charlotte, NC metro area who are seeking to enhance their educational goals.
Notwithstanding any other provisions of these articles, the corporation shall not carry on any other activities not permitted to be carried on by an organization exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Our Values
Mission: We, the Yellow Tea Rose Foundation of NC is nonprofit corporation that encourages and supports giving for the benefit of the Charlotte, NC Metro area. The corporation’s primary purpose shall be to raise money or other forms of contributions which may be either restricted or unrestricted contributions; however, any restricted contribution, once accepted, must be distributed in accordance with the restrictions. This corporation intent is to give out contributions based on the criteria’s listed in the corporations’ scholarship application process.
